I bought a house and this guy ran inside immediately. Apparently the elderly woman who lived here had him, so I guess I have a cat now??

The neighbours have been looking after him from what I gather, but he stays strictly outside. I’m going to speak with them and see what happens from there.
He sleeps in my garden all day and spent the first three days trying to get in the house before a friend filled me in on who he is.
When I finally let him in he bolted to the master bedroom and purred loudly in there for like 10 minutes 😿😻
Top Comment: He gave himself to you as a housewarming gift. Embrace him dearly. And congrats!
I ran all new water lines in my house. The pressure has increased so much! The water heater is just temporarily installed before drywall.

How can I switch WiFi providers if my current one ran specific cables?
Main Post:
I don’t really understand this or know how to explain it. But when I first moved to where I live I tried to get internet through Ziply Fiber. They came out and told me they can’t give me service because Astound Broadband already has cables ran to my house. So I am forced to use Astound, only they are scammers and have terribly unreliable service that goes out frequently. Not to mention they have a poorly made website, and bad customer service.
I’m not just here to trash on them, I am mostly curious how they have some special wires that other companies can’t use?? How do I ever switch?
Edit: I live in a mother-in-law home on property. Everyone on the property rents and the property is owned by a larger company.
Top Comment: First, I'd steer clear of calling them WiFi providers since that's not really what they are. WiFi is local wireless access to a network and doesn't always imply access to the Internet, and not all Internet providers also provide WiFi. The companies you're talking about are Internet service providers. It sounds like Astound owns the cables going to your house and may also allow other companies to use them, but not Ziply. The simplest solution is probably to call Ziply back, explain what you're trying to do, and ask them what you need to do to get service from them. They should be able to explain the process, or if you can't do it, explain why you can't.
